There are moments in life that pass quickly. A laugh that disappears as soon as it arrives. A hug that's just a little tighter. A season you don’t realize you’ll miss until it’s already gone.
Photography, to me, has never been about freezing time. It’s about remembering how it felt. I believe art matters most when it carries meaning, when it holds space for connection, memory, and love that stretches beyond a single moment. That belief is the heart behind everything I create, and it’s why my work is defined by one simple phrase: Art. For when the stories matter.
The photograph I’m sharing here was created after losing my father. He lived with chronic pain, and one of the ways he found comfort, his quiet escape, was coloring. Page after page. Pencil after pencil. Wearing out the yellow fastest. It was something small, something gentle, but it gave him peace.
He loved his grandchildren beyond measure and was endlessly proud of them. He told them often how loved they were, and I hope that truth stays with them forever.
Featured here is my son, my dad’s youngest grandson, wearing my dad’s "old man" hat, his watch, and holding his walking stick, surrounded by stacks and stacks of well-worn coloring books. A small body carrying a big legacy of love.
This is what I mean when I say art matters. I photograph children who don’t sit still, families who don’t pose perfectly, seniors standing on the edge of what comes next, and pets who are never with us long enough. I photograph the moments that feel ordinary now, but grow more meaningful with time. The quiet connections. The love that lingers. These are the stories that deserve to be remembered.
My studio is rooted in a rural community, surrounded by open land and familiar faces. That sense of home shapes everything I create. I don’t chase trends or perfection; I chase real moments, big personality, and connection. Sometimes that story is quiet and reflective. Other times it’s joyful, bold, or a little bit magical. Images meant to feel like memory, whether they make you pause or make you smile. Because one day, these photographs won’t just be images. They’ll be reminders. They’ll be proof. They’ll be pieces of a story worth passing down.
This blog will be a place where I share those stories, both the ones I create for others and the ones that shape me as an artist. If you’re here, I hope you feel welcome. I hope you feel understood. And I hope, when the time comes, we create something meaningful together.
Art. For when the stories matter.
